Watch Dogs will motivate players to curiosity

Comparing Watch Dogs with games such as GTA, developers want to move away from the practice of showcasing all possible mechanic available in the game. Instead, Ubisoft wants players were curious and experimented with the framework of what is possible in the game.

Jonathan Morin - Creative Director Watch Dogs, said in an interview with Gamasutra:

We are very much working so what we should teach the players and what not. For me it is a very important question. When they get a lot of different mechanics, we have to choose. Will you explain everything, or allow people to play themselves - the latter do not many.

For example, I would refer to the first category of GTA, where they spend a lot of time teaching you different things. Personally, I miss some games on the opening element, the ability to satisfy their curiosity. And I want to get it up to gamers that they have discovered opportunities and scope of the game.

According to the developer, which is why hacking Watch Dogs was the action of a button, allowing players to experiment with this feature. Same with skill tree - you open them, but before that you provided all the information that you open. You'll know where to start - and then everything depends on you.

This creates a natural flow, when you look for a way of expressing yourself, rather than to carry out the next mission. You will be given the tools and you have to learn to use them.
